Join us on Friday, April 26th for an all-day celebration of Arbor Day! Participants will kick off the day planting trees throughout the Arboretum before picking out a free tree courtesy of the City of Rockford!

Then join University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener and Master Naturalist, Bob Arevalo, for his How to Kill a Tree class where participants will receive a free tree and learn how to take care of it. Bob will share the most common ways that people tend to kill their trees in an effort to prevent these deadly mistakes. This fun and informative program might just save your trees’ lives!

We’ll end Arbor Day with our annual Arbor Dash 5k (pre-registration is required.) Attend the full day or come for whatever works with your schedule!

To register for the How to Kill a Tree class, please email [email protected] or call 815-965-8146. Space and trees are limited, so pre-registration is recommended. This class will take place in the Main Visitor’s Center classroom.
