Saturday, December 15

10 AM – 1 PM

Join us Saturday, December 15th from 10 AM – 1 PM to learn Thai fruit and vegetable carving, or “kae sa luk,” from one of Rockford’s very own artists, Lincoln Bias! Kae sa luk is a 700 year old art form practiced by chefs all over the world, and an ancient cultural treasure of Thailand. In this 3 hour workshop, students will learn basic cutting techniques, creating leave designs in carrots and cucumbers, before moving on to their first large sized carving challenge: a giant watermelon flower! At the end of the workshop, students can take their masterpieces home for all to see!

Pre-registration for the Holiday Carving Class has closed. Walk-ins are welcome and please remember to bring a watermelon, cucumber, and carrot to carve.

Admission: $15 per person
