A Celebration of the Nation’s Public Gardens
National Public Gardens Day was created in 2008, with then partners Rain Bird, to drive local and national exposure to the importance of building vibrant, relevant gardens committed to community enrichment and environmental responsibility through community engagement, sustainable practices, and conversation.
This annual tradition of celebrating public gardens historically takes place on the Friday preceding Mother’s Day weekend each year. The intent is to raise awareness of public gardens and the important role they play in their communities and on a global scale.
