Facility Rental

Klehm Arboretum &
Botanic Garden is made available for use through a partnership
with the Winnebago County Forest Preserve District. Reasonable rules and guidelines
have been established to assure the maximum enjoyment of these
facilities.
The facilities at the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden were funded
and built to promote the art, science and knowledge of the plant
world.

Fountain Garden and Covert Gazebo
|
|
The Covert Gazebo is a beautiful setting for any type of wedding
ceremony, large or small (see the
wedding brochure). The trellis area is covered in lovely
climbing roses during the month of June. July and August bring a
symphony of flowers in the beds planted around the Fountain Garden
area. The burbling water of the fountain provides a calm, relaxing
atmosphere. A picnic grove is located just to the west of the
garden.

| The Covert Gazebo is reserved as an event site
only. A reservation does not ensure exclusive use as this is a
public facility. Renters are responsible for all arrangements for
the event. The Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden provides only the
site. Inclement weather provisions are
not included.
Electrical outlets are available at the Covert
Garden Gazebo, but podiums, electrical cords, microphones, speakers or the
like are not provided by the Arboretum. Chairs are provided and may
accommodate for 300 people.
No private changing facilities are available.
Rental party may use public restrooms.

The right to take photographs in the gardens is
included in the fee for a wedding service. Please take care of
plantings when posing for pictures.
The Fountain is operational May - September.

The Visitor Center
|
|

Gallery
The Gallery located in the Visitor Center has approximately 3700
sq. ft. with a south wall of sliding glass doors looking out onto
the Arboretum and Gardens. Quarry stone floor, solid moveable
partitions, thirty 60" diameter tables, eighteen 5' rectangular
tables and 270 chairs are available. The room capacity is 275
people.
Classroom
The Classroom of the Visitor Center is 780 sq. ft room that can
accommodate, with classroom-style seating, a capacity of 32 people,
or auditorium-style seating of 60 people. It is an excellent locale
for hands-on workshops, demonstrations, lectures, meetings, and
caterers prep room.Library
The library is available for use by small groups, up to 12, for
periods of up to two hours. Two 5 sq. ft tables and 12 chairs are
provided. This room is used for small meetings and a bridal room.

The CLARCOR Pavilion
|
|
Approximately 600 square feet multipurpose room in a
self-contained building, surrounded by demonstration gardens. Partially
covered brick-paved patio on south end. Accommodates 60 people at
tables, 30 at classroom-style tables, 68 theater seating. |

Tile floor; kitchen
facilities include refrigerator, sink, stove, oven, microwave, and
dishwasher, not intended for major meal preparation. White dry erase
board, 6' ceiling mounted screen. Ten 6' rectangular tables, 70
molded plastic chairs. Great for small retreats and meetings,
and it can be used for a groom's room.

General Rules and Regulations
Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a public
facility and remains open to the public. Rental of the facilities
does not represent exclusive use. However, when building space is
rented during operational hours, efforts will be made to keep space
as private as possible. Public areas include the reception area,
library, restrooms & gift shop.
Building and grounds will be made available to the user in
reasonable conditions, and it is expected the user will provide
cleanup, such as removing all litter from the area and bagging all
garbage, after the event. Klehm Arboretum staff will dispose
of bagged garbage.
An employee will be on duty during your rental time. Events shall be
completed and facility cleaned by the end of the reserved rental
time unless prior approval is received.
All buildings at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden are
smoke-free. Smoking is permitted outdoors and visitors are asked to
properly dispose of smoking related refuse in receptacles and be
considerate of other guests.
Alcoholic beverages may be served only in compliance with all
applicable laws and ordinances. No alcohol may be served to any
person who is intoxicated or underage. Alcoholic beverages are to be
confined to specific rental locations. When alcohol is served,
a liability policy must be provided covering Klehm Arboretum &
Botanic Garden and Winnebago County Forest Preserve for the day of
the event.
