1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Snowshoeing is a great low impact aerobic activity and the fastest growing winter sports activity. Plus it gets you outdoors in the beautiful scenery. Come experience the pleasure of snowshoeing during our KlehmArboretum Snowshoe Hike. Can’t wait to see what this area is like in winter.

This snowshoe hike will have an instructional component to it, so come for the fun, walk away with the knowledge. We will start with 20-30 minutes of indoor instruction at the Clarcor Building, where you will learn how to put on and take off your snowshoes, select the proper snowshoe, and dress for the outdoors in winter. After that, we head out and learn how to get up from a fall, select a comfortable stride for walking and stomping, and turning around. The rest of our time is spent exploring the Arboretum. After the hike, we will have a fire pit, hot chocolate, and S’mores!

The price for this Klehm Arboretum Snowshoe Hike is $30 ($15 for kids 12 and under) and includes snowshoes, poles, and $5 Rocktown gift certificate. If you have your own snowshoes and want to join, come on out Price for those with their own equipment is $10. Event space is limited so don’t delay. Call 815-636-9066 or sign up below to reserve your spot. There is a button for adult and youth registration. When signing up online please include in the notes section if you are a current member of Klehm Arboretum.

We will post on our website and Facebook and call all participants.
