Self-Guided Fall Color Tour

Discover the best that autumn has to offer with Klehm’s NEW! self-guided smartphone tour! This tour is being debuted during Autumn at the Arboretum and not only features the many points of fall foliage and autumn interest on Klehm’s grounds, but also engages guests with fun interactive trivia and quizzes. To access the tour, simply look for the acorn and maple leaf signs as you explore our trails, scan the QR codes on each sign with your smartphone, and you will be redirected to the tour.

(The tour may also be viewed on a PC at http://bycell.co/ctffr and is available as a paper copy by request at the Main Visitor’s Center.)

Klehm Scavenger Hunt

Your kiddos can enjoy this scavenger hunt in one of two ways: download and print the scavenger hunt at home or go to the Main Visitor’s Center and scan a QR code to be taken to a digital version. No matter what, the kids will be sure to have a ton of fun looking for the signs of fall as the whole family explores Klehm’s grounds during Autumn at the Arboretum!

Find the downloadable and printable version of the Klehm scavenger hunt here.

FREE Webinar – An exploration of the biology and ecology of fall leaf coloration

Tune in Wednesday 10/14 at 6 PM for a FREE webinar presented by Paul Schaberg. Paul will discuss the connections of leaf color change to weather and other cues, and how these factors influence the timing and location of peak leaf color development will be highlighted – information that can assist everyone’s recreational “leaf peeping”!

Dog Costume Contest

Back this year (but a tad different!) is our popular dog costume contest! This year’s contest will take place the entire week of Autumn at the Arboretum (10/11 – 10/18) and will be voted on through Facebook.

How to enter the dog costume contest:

  1. Dress up your pooch and snap a picture in front of one of Klehm’s fall displays!
  2. Email the picture to info@klehm.org with subject line: “Dog Costume Contest Entry.”

Your photo entry will be included in a photo album which will be uploaded to Klehm’s Facebook page on Monday 10/19. Klehm supporters and your friends and family will vote for their favorite dog costume by liking their favorite photo in the album. The voting period will be Monday 10/19 through Sunday 10/25. Whichever photo gets the most likes on Klehm’s Facebook page will win the dog costume contest. First and second place winners will be announced Monday 10/26.

Photo Entry Requirements:

  • Photo entries must be taken on the grounds of Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden to be considered.
  • Photo entries must be submitted by email to info@klehm.org.
  • Photo entries must be submitted by midnight on Sunday 10/18.
  • Votes must be made on the photo in the Klehm Facebook album. One Facebook like equals one valid vote. Votes made on shared photos or photos to other Facebook account pages will not be counted as a vote for the costume contest.
