Garden Fair 2026

Saturday, June 6th & Sunday, June 7th

Garden Fair Weekend is back for 2026!

Join Klehm the first weekend in June to experience a wide variety of plants, flowers, garden décor, art, educational information booths and more!

Listen to live music performances in our Fountain Garden while enjoying a meal from local food truck vendors (full list of food trucks below)!

Stop at the Clarcor Pavilion Classroom during Garden Fair to join guest speakers from The Morton Arboretum and The Chicago Region Trees Initiative to learn more about a variety of topics related to trees, horticulture, gardening, and more!

Saturday, June 6th – Frederic Miller, PhD

10AM:  Soils-101:  The importance of soils and their management in overall plant health

12PM:  Climate change, tree health and oak decline (This session will build what is covered in the Soils-101 discussion)

2PM:  Outdoor “walk about” diagnosing and discussing common insect pests, and abiotic and biotic diseases (weather permitting).  Plan B:  Indoor session on common plant diseases, scale insects, and mites)

Sunday, June 7th – Tricia Bethke, MS

10AM: “What’s Bugging My Trees?” Join Tricia Bethke, forest pest outreach coordinator, and learn how to identify and manage new and emerging pests and pathogens. Attendees will learn how to spot early warning signs of infestation to protect our trees.

12PM: “Galls Gone Crazy!” Discover the fascinating and often overlooked world of galls—unique plant growths formed in response to insects, mites, fungi, or bacteria. Explore how these unusual structures develop, the important ecological roles they play, and the remarkable diversity they add to our forests and landscapes.

2PM: “Jumping Worms” Are They a Problem in Your Garden, Or Not?” Jumping worms are an invasive species that can impact your gardens and soil health. Learn how to identify these worms, understand the potential impact in certain landscapes, and discover practical steps to help prevent their spread.

Programs are made possible by the John and Pauline Cook Lecture Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.
