Wednesdays in July – First program is July 6!

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Clarcor Pavilion

Members: $8/session (adult & child pair) or $28 for all 4 sessions

Non-members: $16/session (adult & child pair) or $60 for all 4 sessions

Additional children: $6/session



Little Seedlings programs include a story, themed activities to accompany the story, a craft or planting to bring home, and an exploration hike through our arboretum or gardens. Each class is designed for children to work side-by-side with their parent or caregiver as they engage in these hands-on experiences and activities. Recommended ages: 3-6 years old, however all are welcome. Pre-registration is REQUIRED and space is limited.

Admission for 1 adult is included in the registration fee. Additional adults must pay the general admission fee at the gate upon arrival (free for Klehm members).

Hungry, Hungry Hummers – July 6

It’s always exciting to see a hummingbird visiting your garden! Learn what they’re looking for and plant some flower seeds to provide food for hungry little hummers in your own garden.

A Garden of Senses – July 13

Gardens should be experienced with all 5 of our senses. Explore our gardens using your senses and discover how different plants can appeal to different senses.

Trees & Leaves – July 20

Klehm wouldn’t be an arboretum without trees and our lives wouldn’t be complete without them either. Learn why trees are so important and celebrate these majestic plants that we just can’t live without!

The Monarch Butterfly is the state butterfly of Illinois and a truly remarkable insect. Learn about its lifecycle, the remarkable journey it makes each year, and how to attract them to your yard.


Cancellation Policy: Refunds (less 10%) are available for classes when canceled at least 7 days in advance. Klehm reserves the right to cancel classes; in which case, a full refund will be issued.
