All year long it’s easy to enjoy Klehm while walking on our cleared and paved East Loop path and traversing our woodland trails that are great for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Don’t forget… your canine friends are welcome, too.

Visitors are invited to enjoy walking tours through our gardens and arboretum. Pick up a trail guide and Interpretive Tour at the Visitors Center.  The Interpretive Tour details 23 points of interest around the 1.8 mile paved walking trail.

Explore 1.8 miles of paved paths in two loops and 2.5 miles of unpaved trails leading you through the heart of the Arboretum.  A leisurely walk takes approximately 1-1/2 hours.

The East Loop

The East Loop contains garden collections including a Hosta Garden, Peony Garden, Rhododendron & Azalea Garden, Contemporary Perennial Garden, Grass Garden, Prehistoric Garden and five Demonstration Gardens. The Demonstration Gardens include a Butterfly Garden, Vegetable Garden, Daylily Garden and two other theme gardens.

A Longer Walk—The West Loop

The longer West Loop highlights the tree collections that make us a true Arboretum. Just a few of the trees you will see include buckeyes, larch, maples, beech, firs, spruce, oaks, pines and many more exotic and unusual trees. There are also several chipped paths throughout the West & East loops that will lead you to the more remote portions of the Arboretum property.

No matter the season, Klehm is a great place to witness nature’s beauty, observe wildlife and spend relaxing time out of doors.
