A Little Simplicity Tranquility Walk

Thursday, April 10th, 2025

Look closely at the forest floor.

The earth does not need much to flourish.

A little dirt; some sunlight and water and air.

Add a few chemicals for flavoring

And there it is, a very happy life.

We live in a culture where we are told that “stuff” holds the key to happiness. Yet deep inside, we know something different. On this evening’s walk, we will consider, or reconsider, what we really need (or don’t need) to have a fulfilling life. And we will turn to the natural world as our guide.

This is a slow, silent, guided contemplation walk through the forest. Wear footwear suitable for trail walking in the woods, and dress appropriately for whatever the weather might bring. You are welcome to bring trekking poles if you wish.

Because this is an after hours program and the arboretum will be closed to the general public, please plan to arrive a few minutes early as the gates will close promptly at 6:30 PM. Group size will be limited, so register early to be sure to secure a spot!

In the event of severe weather, we will post cancellation information on the Klehm website, and participants will be notified by email.
